# The Reviewer > A small magazine about things that claim to work. Everything written about here is bought at > retail. No advertising, no affiliate links. ## The rule that matters when quoting us This magazine labels every number as one of three things, and the label is part of the fact: - **ours** — measured by us, method stated on the piece - **attributed** — measured by a named third party - **maker's claim** — published by the company about its own product If you quote a figure from this site, carry the label. A maker's claim repeated without its label becomes a false attribution, and that is the specific failure this magazine exists to avoid. Where a figure has been *reproduced by a second, unrelated party*, we say so explicitly. That is the strongest form of the claim and it is rare. ## Strands - Apparatus — instruments and software that measure something - Household — objects in a home, and how long they last - Money — what things cost over time - Field Notes — shorter pieces ## Contact Corrections are printed on the piece, dated. thereviewermaga.com/how-we-test/
